The Area Service Committee (ASC)

The purpose of the ASC is to respond to the needs of the fellowship as they arise, as well as administer and coordinate Narcotics Anonymous business and activities common to the various groups comprising its' membership. It does so in accordance with the Twelve Traditions of NA and the Twelve Concepts for NA Service, so that "no addict seeking recovery need ever die."

The Twelve Traditions of NA are the ties that bind the groups together. The Twelve Concepts for NA Service are our guiding principles for our service structure. It is the responsibility of the ASC members to consider whether our actions are consistent with our Traditions and Concepts. When we conduct business, we ought to focus on the spiritual principles embodied in the Traditions (unity, service, and carrying the message to the addict who still suffers), and embodied in the Concepts (ensuring that we remain devoted to service, not government).

  • The ASC is composed of Group Service Representative (GSR's).

  • The ASC Administrative Officers: Chairperson, Vice Chairperson. Secretary, Treasurer

  • The ASC is supported by various Subcommittees and the Regional Committee Members.

  • The Area Committee elects its own Officers, Subcommittee Chairpersons and Regional Committee Members.

Mumbai Area Service Committee (ASC) business meeting is held on the 4th Sunday of every month at 4:00pm at Victoria Church, Mahim, Mumbai. Due to Covid-19 ASC is held its meeting online on zoom platform.

GSR's are delegated the authority to serve in their own right at ASC & regional assembly participants, exercising their own conscience & best judgment in the best interest of NA as a whole.
